I paint mainly in oils. Most of my paintings could broadly be described as landscape paintings but I am particularly drawn to images where the presence of people, the mark they make on the landscape over time can be felt and I try to depict this in my work. As I live in Northern Ireland most of my paintings depict Irish landscapes. I'm especially fond of places where a link to the past can be experienced and old buildings, sometimes derelict cottages are often present. Capturing a sense of place and time is what I most want to achieve. I love painting and hope that others may enjoy my paintings too.
Biography: I was born and raised in Northern Ireland. I hold a BA Hons degree in Fine Art. As well as painting I am also a photographer. I have published a book of recent works. Check out the link below. A selection of my paintings and photographs were exhibited at a Solo show in the Hilliard Gallery in Kansas City, USA in September 2010 during the Kansas Irish Festival. Four of my paintings can be viewed at the Jam Art Factory Gallery on Patrick Street, Dublin from mid-August to Mid-October 2011. Postcards and signed greetings cards of the painting "Old Stone in Sun and Shadow" can be purchased at the Wee Cottage, adjacent to Dunluce Castle, County Antrim. Why not take a tour up the Antrim Coast if you are in the area and visit some of the places depicted in my paintings and whilst visiting historic Dunluce Castle stop for tea or coffee and homemade scones at the Wee Cottage.
